The instructions detail the following procedures:
- Sleeve Removal: This involves using a sleeve hold-down clamp, tapping the sleeve with the provided tap and guide bushing, and then using a puller mandrel and puller body with a hydraulic press to remove the sleeve.
- Sleeve Installation: This process requires cleaning the injector sleeve bore, driving the sleeve into the casting using a drive-in tool, and using roll-in tools to secure the sleeve, and is done at a slow RPM.
- Cutting Injector Tip Protrusion: This step involves setting up the guide bushing, sleeve seat cutter, and driving arbor in a seat and guide machine, using a gauge finger and gauge to cut the sleeve to the correct length, and checking the tip protrusion with a flat tip protrusion gauge. It is recommended to apply Prussian Blue Compound at the Seat Area to ensure proper seating of the injector.
The document also emphasizes the use of "EA" Lube cutting fluid for a good finish.
